observation!!! XD
Disturbed and Marilyn Manson both have the same style of genre of music, which is rock, their songs that they sing are different from the view of their music videos disturbed – Asylum is a illustration and Marilyn Manson – sweet dreams is a amplification.
The audience type for disturbed’s asylum would have to be people who are ok looking at things that some viewers may find sickening or disturbing the music video for this song does have some disturbing footage of someone being attacked with a chainsaw then they give someone his body to eat.
But with Marilyn Manson his videos are more like if you watch me on drugs you may have a reaction but his videos have never been disturbing or gruesome in any way you would think of.
The relationship between the music and the video is that when u listens to it you think of an asylum when you watch the video you can see that it’s an asylum and that the pyjamas in the video are what the Jews wore in the holocaust.
With Marilyn Manson the music is different from the video because the song is called sweet dreams when you watch the video you think in your mind that its more like watching a nightmare so the song is a reverse of the actual video.
Watching the video you can see that the relationship does not make sense when you see what he is doing or what he wears etc you can see that the weirder it gets the audience who enjoys watching Marilyn Manson will carry on to see what he does next.
With disturbed there is a visual between the music like when the person try’s to escape from the asylum with the beat he will fall over or when he dies there is a beat also when the video starts when the beat starts it moves to different shots giving it a thriller affect for the audience the video and the beat go very well in this like when he runs it’s the beat when he breaks something the beat happens.
With close up of the singer in disturbed it only happens every now and then when he sings but when he sings you can see emotion in his face because the songs he sings to are either part of his life or what has happened. With Marilyn Manson he is always the character in his songs. He is always singing and is in every shot there is this is a lot different from disturbed but both give a good effect with the audience.
The references of voyeurism in disturbed their isn’t any but when you watch it feels like you’re the person watching what is going on behind the glass also by the way its shot it gives it the effect that you are after the man and that you want him to escape or to die
Because of the ending it gives you this effect when the lady opened a metal draw with his body init and he opens his eyes this gives you the effect that you are watching him.
There is one references to Disturbed video because if you understand the history of the holocaust you will know that the cloths the man is wearing and the uniforms that other people are wearing most of it is based on world war 2 and how the German treated the Jews but other parts its about
How people are in asylums because what they have or what they are. This does references to other videos like the film When Angels Fly (1982) Woman Condemned (1933) happy Hell Night (1992) Kisses in the Dark (1997) Girl, Interrupted (1999) Session 9 (2001) Final (2001) Killer Instinct (2000)

music video
The extension is the music video its self. During the 20’s and 30’s moving image had just begun to move with music. Not having the technology used to create music videos like we have today e.g. metric give me sympathy (all one shot) but did you know that Scopitones are also known as Panorams, a coin operated jukebox which also played films to move with the music.
Scopitones were commonly found in cafes and amusement centres. Scopitones were well directed towards the younger generation as it was them that would purchase and listen to the music. The normal spots for the younger generation during the 20’s and 30’s was cafes and amusement centres. For example; In the musical indeana jones the 4th he meets his sone at a cafe/ diner.
during the 60s something amazing happend the beatles were born after the war with vietnarm youg teenagers wanted something different so when sex, drugs and rock and roll came across it was a good time for the beatles. when the beatles came out it was for more of the young teenager then a person in their mid 20s.
1970’s Top of the Pops began using music videos to go with an artists performance . top of the pops began in 64 but began using music video at the beginning of the 70’s. people still didnt understand videos and every thing was still new to the audience. One of best and one of the most famous music videos of the 70’s was Queens Bohemian Rhapsody.
In the 80s bands began to take the promotion of their music very seriously and with great succsess the music videos were made for each individual single. in the 80s every one saw many changes in technology and allowed for more advanced to come forward for music videos. Unfortunately without good promotion the artist, producer and production company wouldn’t be able to afford to film the next music video.
I dont think that people should purchess music videos from shops seeing as people can watch them all over youtube and TV as all can be viewed via music websites. YouTube is a video search engine which will nearly show anything you want. This is extremely furstraiting for the music industry although artists still need to use music video for there product or image.
During this development in technology over the past years the interactive videos were also created. These videos allow the viewer to change and interact with the video. YouTube also became an outlet for unsigned artists trying to become noticed. Many famous artists today were found using YouTube.
By using music videos, artists have been able to create an image that represents them, there music and any theme within their current music genre. Through music video . The most influential artist of all time when concerning artist image is Lady Gaga. Through experimenting and shocking people with outfits, the artist has created a whole new genre image.

Define!
Can you define in your own words the audience type for this genre?
The type of audience that i think would aprechiate are normal people and typeof people can like music. most of the poeple that you see in some of there videos are wearing black and dress heavy but i love this band i wear pretty normal clothing so there is no sort or dress sense for there music or age for that matter. age is also a different part of this for athe audience with any kind of music even 60s music some teen agers like it so my answear is that some people go over for the music but every one is different.
chosen genre
Even tho the song has some similiarities there totally different.
both songs mean different things inside the fire is about a loved one being taken to heavan and stricken is about a woman whos life is not worth meaning and is waisting.
Stricken
This music video is quite similiar to prayer ( also by disturbed ) with people runining there lives and becoming nothing, this video has the same aspect but i think he is in love or control over her and hates what she is doing. The song also features wildlife which is life and how every thing is like living in a jungle so that you have a you are programed to live like an animal does. This video is also explaining how she can be unhappy but still smile and laugh and she can carry it on and how he cant let it also explains how she is not sufferening and he does not know why even tho her life is a mess and how she looks like a normal person and she has crippled him of what she has done to her life.
In side the fire
This music video is about a woman that he loved killing her self to release her soul which ends up making him go crazy. this video is starnge with how there all surrounded by blood. In the song he sings that devon was taken then mistaken which i think is that she was told by somthing to kill her self but her soul was evil so she was released into the fire. This video is some what comfusing and hard to understand which is what i think they wanted the audience to think. The ending of this video can make you think was it him that killed her or was it all in his head.
Similarities!
The main similaritie in both these video is that it is the same band. Both the songs include women eaither killing or being sexualy active. each song shows diatruction and dispear of sadness for someone elses life gone wrong.
even tho when both songs start there different but when the bands are showen they are in darken rooms with either mood light or normal lights.
